I love working with photos that are personal to you. I especially enjoy creating collages of people or pets that you have a special bond with. I will work with you to capture the essence of the subject in representation and through the choice of words and image that describe the subject.
The Process
Please send photos of approximately 1 MB or larger. Photos taken outdoors in natural light often provide the best colors for a collage. When possible a photo taken out of direct sunlight or on an overcast day is ideal. I will download the photo on my computer and discuss with you any cropping that may take place. You may send several photos to be narrowed down.
Time Line
Collages take several weeks to produce. All referenced images are produced using hand-cut recycled paper. Each cut is selected for hue, value, saturation and content. The process to recreate an image into a collage that is accurate and meaningful to the individual is a thoughtful one. Each collage, once complete, is protected with a UV varnish that is applied three times.
Deposit
Advance payment of half the agreed-upon price is required prior to commencement of portrait work. Payment may be via check or in person, via Visa/MC, PayPal or cash.
